British Sandwich Week – 8th-14th May

You can’t beat a good sandwich for lunch! This iconic British food is the nation’s favourite food to enjoy on the go. We think we have lots of reasons to celebrate British Sandwich Week (14th – 20th May), including the fact that all of the bread sold in The Farm Shop, and used at The Delicatessen to make sandwiches to take away, is baked fresh daily in our craft Bakery.

Our range of freshly baked bread includes white, wholemeal and granary, as well as a range of flavoured breads and crusty bread. As well as breads, we also bake our own breakfast pastries. Why not try our ham and cheese filled croissant available from the Delicatessen for a more continental sandwich?

 

Pick up great sandwich fillings from across The Farm Shop. Every day on The Delicatessen we serve a hot pulled pork sandwich made with pork from our own farm. All of the cooked meats available are prepared in our kitchens using home and locally reared meat. From The Butchery, our award-winning sausages, bacon, burgers and sandwich steaks are expertly prepared by our team of butchers using meat from our own farm. So whether you fancy a hot or cold sandwich, we have it covered!

 

To add that extra flourish to your sandwich, we have lots of fresh produce from The Greengrocery, as well as traditional condiments and sauces from local producers for extra flavour!

Adrian’s perfect sandwich – Chicken breast, spicy cheese, lettuce and mayo on wholegrain bread.

Deli Manager Adrian has been with us for over 3 years and is a big fan of pastry, especially our sausage rolls.

 

 

Claire’s perfect sandwich – Rare beef, Harrogate blue cheese and onion chutney on a seeded rustic roll.

Claire has a great knowledge of food and flavours. Her favourite product is smoked salmon served with our broccoli and smoked bacon salad.

 

 

Jane’s perfect sandwich – Parma ham and mozzerella with tomato and basil chutney on our home baked focaccia.

 

Lynn’s perfect sandwich – Ham and egg salad with tomato chutney on plain white bread.

Lynn has been with us for 6 years and is the singer of the team. She keeps her colleagues very entertained! She loves to enjoy a slice of cheese and onion quiche served salad at teatime.

 

 

Russell’s perfect sandwich – Bacon, lettuce, sun-dried tomato and avocado mayo on slice white bread.

Supervisor Russell is very well knowledged on good food. His favourite food is a nice smoked salmon salad.

 

 

Zoe’s perfect sandwich – Turkey, smoked brie and cranberry on granary bread.

Zoe has many years of Deli experience. She’s a big fan of our Cornish pasties.

 

 

Christine’s perfect sandwich – Big Green Egg flaked smoked salmon, Crème fraîche, cucumber and mixed leaf salad in a wrap.

Supervisor Christine has been at Blacker Hall for over 10 years and is a real expert when it comes to Blacker Hall produce!
