We are super proud to have won Best use of Local Produce on Monday evening at the Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards!
Anton, Karen and Georgina accepted the award, presented by Stephanie Moon. We are really pleased the recognition we have achieved. 80% of everything we sell is homemade, locally grown or home-reared on our own farm and the remaining produce sourced from local growers and suppliers.

The Oliver Awards, which are now in their 12th year, recognise the achievements of the best in the business for Yorkshire’s flourishing food and drink scene.

Speaking of the win, Edward Garthwaite (Managing Director) commented:

“It’s an absolute privilege to be named Best use of Local Produce. It’s a key part of our business strategy and ethos and is about focusing our time and effort on where we can make positive impacts, not only for our customers, but equally for our environment too.

“We are also extremely proud to be able to offer our customers seasonal produce from our own farm. Around 80% of what we sell is made here by us, so whether you’re picking up a few essentials in The Farm Shop, grabbing a bite to eat from our Food To Go counter, or enjoying a leisurely breakfast in our Barn Café, our passion and determination is engraved into every inch of the Blacker Hall Farm experience.

“We will continue to look for new ways in which to support the local economy and the environment, combatting food waste, and helping customers to be more eco-friendly.”
