Our "Real Farmer" experience allows children or adults (there are no upper age limits and we have lots of adults attend our experiences) to participate in real farm tasks and learn about animal care. The fun filled, hands-on activities are designed for anyone above the age of 6 years. During this unique session, farmers will get stuck into a range of seasonal farmyard tasks, such as: feeding and grooming animals, collecting eggs, helping with mucking out and of course learning lots about the animals are you go.

Activities may vary slightly depending on the day, but each session promises a fun, safe, and engaging farm experience.

There's lots of time for pictures, playing, petting, snuggles and hand feeding the animals during your time. This is a one to one experience where only you/your booking party will be aloud into the animal pens with your farmer.  The party size is limited to 6 people to maximise your time with the farmer and animals.

The price also includes lunch (to the value of £10) here at Blacker Hall Farm from our Courtyard Kitchen. You will receive your lunch voucher at the end of your experience.

Perfect for curious minds, animal lovers, or anyone interested in farm life.

What you need to know:

  • Only the people who have purchased a ticket will be allowed into the experience.
  • The experience lasts around 90 minutes but includes Free entry for one into our Little Farmers Trail for the day.
  • Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult who has also purchased a ticket.
  • You are required to wear wellies that can be disinfected when moving between the animal pens and at the end of your session.
  • We will provide overalls which must be worn during your experience.
  • Please be respectful and listen to the farmers at all times.

Tickets include this experience and entry for one into the Little Farmers Trail extra guests will need to pay £3 to enter the area.

If you prefer a different start time throughout the day please give us a call and we will try our best to arrange this for you.

PLEASE NOTE: All animals, especially farm animals, carry bugs which can be passed to humans, it's very important that after you have fed the calves you remember to wash your hands. There is a hand wash with hot running water on the exit to our Little Farmers Trail and in The Farmers Barn. Find our more guidance on visiting farms by clicking here >>>
