A great value recipe idea using our lean Steak Mince. Perfect served with seasonal vegetables or a green salad and focaccia bread, which we bake fresh here.
- 1 pack of Blacker Hall Steak Mince
- 1 medium onion, skinned
- 75g plain flour
- 1 level tbsp tomato puree
- 300ml beef stock
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 50g butter
- 50g Fountain's Gold cheese, grated
- 1/2 tsp dried mixed herbs
Preheat the oven to 190C, 375F, gas mark 5.
Cook the mince and onion in a pan on the hob to brown the mince.
Mix in the tomato puree, stock and seasoning and cook through for 15-20 minutes, then turn into a shallow, ovenproof dish.
In a bowl, rub the butter into the remaining flour until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Then stir in the grated cheese, herbs and seasoning.
Spoon the crumble over the meat and bake in the oven at 190C, 375F, gas mark 5 for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serve immediately with a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables or a green salad and focaccia.
