Every cut is prepared by our skilled Butchers and dry-aged for flavour, ensuring the quality you expect from Blacker Hall Farm.


From Pasture to Plate – Our Family Farm

Our beef comes from grass-fed heritage cattle reared right here on the Blacker Hall family farm in Wakefield. Grazing the lush Yorkshire fields that surround the Farm Shop, our cattle are raised slowly and traditionally — the way it has been done here for generations.

It’s this careful, hands-on approach that gives our beef its depth of flavour, tenderness and consistency.


Farm to Fork – Provenance You Can Trust

We are proud to be independent farmers and producers. Our cattle are raised to the highest welfare standards, using traditional farming methods that prioritise care, time and respect for the animals.

Our beef also has exceptionally low food miles. From our family farm to a trusted Yorkshire abattoir and back to Blacker Hall Farm Shop is just 42 miles — ensuring freshness, traceability and quality every step of the way.


21-Day Dry Aged for Outstanding Flavour

Grass-fed cattle naturally produce beef with fantastic texture and flavour. To enhance this even further, our expert Butchers dry-age all our beef for a minimum of 21 days. This traditional process allows the meat to tenderise naturally and develop its rich, distinctive taste.

The result is beef that cooks beautifully and delivers on flavour every time.


Naturally Nutritious

Our beef isn’t just delicious — it’s also naturally nourishing. It’s an excellent source of high-quality protein, essential for building and repairing muscles and tissues. It’s also rich in key vitamins and minerals including iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and selenium, alongside naturally occurring healthy fats such as omega-3 and omega-6.
