Celebrate British Beef Week

Celebrate British Beef Week

23rd - 30th April 2024

Join us in celebrating British Beef Week! For over 20 years our family have been farming beef cattle here in Wakefield for you to enjoy from Farm Shop. We're proud to uphold traditional farming practices using a hands-on approach.

This week, we invite you to join us in celebrating British Beef Week by exploring our range of native bred, slow reared, 100% grass fed beef.

What is Great British Beef Week?

The nationwide campaign celebrates the versatility and exceptional taste of British beef, while highlighting the commitment and dedication of British beef farmers to sustainable practices.

This year, we aim to inspire families to savour the taste and experiment with naturally delicious British beef. Whether enjoying it as part of a Sunday roast with all the trimmings, or creating a reimagined British beef dish incorporating flavours from around the world.

Grass-fed cattle reared with care

We give our cattle all the benefit of our years of expertise, grazing our herd on the land surrounding the Farm Shop. Our farm has always been at the core of our business. We are committed to bringing you high quality home-reared meat, with unrivalled flavour.

We feed them on a mixture of nutritious home-grown cereals and forage crops, achieving a uniquely delicious flavour.

21 day dry aged for fantastic flavour

Our cattle are reared on a grass diet resulting in fantastic texture and deep flavour, enhanced by our expert butchers who dry-age our beef for a minimum of 21 days. Our beef is truly local, and we insist on low food miles. From our farm, to the abattoir and back to Blacker Hall Farm Shop is less than 42 miles!

Nutritional Benefits

Our beef is packed with essential nutrients that nourish your body and support your well-being. It's an excellent source of high-quality protein, essential for building and repairing tissues, muscles and organs. It is also filled with essential vitamins and minerals such as iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and selenium. Not forgetting the healthy fats, including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, in balanced proportions.

Blacker Hall Rib of Beef

Dry-aged for a minimum of 21 days, it's one of our favourite roasting joints and a true masterpiece!

Prefer a richer, more intense flavour? Our expert butchers are always on hand to help and will happily dry-age your Rib of Beef longer on request.

Head over to our butchery counter to pick up something special for the weekend!
