Little farmers Family experience

Little farmers Family experience

We have just launched a new family fun activity area The ‘Little Farmers Trail’.

Located in Calder Grove, Wakefield we have just revamped our outdoor space to create a new experience especially for young families. The Little Farmers Trail gives children the chance to meet some of the Blacker Hall animals for the first time, including pigs, chickens, cows, sheep, horses and rabbits. A new hub has been created, where families can take part in farm themed activities, colouring and puzzles, take part in vegetable treasure hunt and find the golden egg! The Little Farmer trail has free entry, with giant climbing logs, swings and picnic benches, it’s a great spot to enjoy the great Yorkshire fresh air this summer.

Head of communications Tanya said “We're incredibly proud of our farming heritage here at Blacker Hall and we're excited to introduce some of our farm animals and share some of our farming knowledge with our younger visitors through fun activities and games.”

Food, as always is’ at the heart of Blacker Hall Farm, and not just any food – it’s local, award-winning and made by our team of people dedicated to quality and tradition. Visitors to the Little Farmer Trail can choose from three dining options each offering different menus and service. The Farm Shop Food to Go Counter  has take-away hot and cold sandwiches, salads, pizzas, toasties, homemade cakes, coffee's and more. Take your car for a spin around Yorkshire’s first Drive Thru Cafe for milkshakes, hot dogs, Yorkshire puddings and sandwiches. Or you can sit back, relax and enjoy full table service in the Restaurant -The Barn Kitchen.

Don’t forget to take a look around the family farm shop which includes award-winning Butchery, Fishmongers, Deli, Greengrocery, Bakery and Patisserie counter, all well stocked with fresh homemade and local produce.

The Little Farmers Trail is open for the duration of the summer 9am - 4.30pm everyday.
